Furniture Care and Warranty

Temperature, Humidity and Sunlight:

All fine furniture should have as stable an environment as possible. A fairly constant temperature and humidity level should be maintained. That can be accomplished by using a humidifier in the winter months and a dehumidifier in the summertime. Moisture causes the wood to expand or contract. Even though our furniture is built to accommodate such movement on rare occasions a particular board may move in an undesirable way. Intense, direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause your furniture to dry out and may even fade over time. Careful attention should be paid to this, as there is no finish that can totally suppress the sun's UV Rays.

Care of Your Furniture:

For all furniture I recommend never leaving standing water on any wood surface, regardless of finish. Dining Room tables are specially treated with multiple coats of water resistant lacquer or polyurethane.

Warranty:

Every piece of furniture I sell is handcrafted. Every piece of furniture is crafted with great care and expertise.

All furniture is warranted from structural defects. Normal shrinkage, swelling, hairline cracks and minor warpage of wide board furniture are to be expected and are not a structural defect and are therefore not covered. I try to match grain patterns. But due to a variety of different influences that affect individual trees, variations will occur and will be evident in your furniture to varying degrees. A variation in grain pattern is not considered defective and is not reason for return/shop credit. I will repair/replace furniture found to be defective due to structural problems within 30 Days of delivery. I will first inspect the furniture to determine whether problem is structural or damaged. Generally, I am not inclined to allowances on goods after 30 days from time of delivery. Since I do not have control over the conditions our goods are subjected to once they leave my shop, damage resulting from negligence or misuse is not covered. The warranty is extended only to the original consumer. There are no other warranties either expressed or implied.
